Arken (Extended Demo)
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Welcome to the world of Arken
[Release of full version is to be expected for early 2025]
In this retro inspired Zelda-like you take the role of the hero to save not only one but two worlds.
'The day has come for you to take the Guard's Trial, young knight!', the king of Liones Castle spoke to me. Back then, I didn't know it was the day my quest to save Arken started. So I left the castle and went South to the Cave of Trials.'
The extended Demo is here!
This new demo contains all the content from before with the following additions:
- 2 new main dungeons
- 1 required mini dungeon
- lots of new caves
- Flip world access
- new sub locations like the farm and Aquara's Domain
- Bottle items
- Bug Net
- Fishing (although not in the final state)
- new map display
- new GUI layout (with explanations to each item in inventory)
- Item Randomizer
Item Randomizer Mode notes
In this mode, some changes to the Story Mode were made to ensure a fast start and an more open world from the beginning. More on this will tell you the NPC in your house when you play this mode (to avoid Story spoilers here).
Some restrictions were made, some features are still not ready, so this mode will be drastically improved in the full version. Planned features are:
- Hints on item locations
- Ingame map tracker
- Enemizer
- Keysanity

In my head cannon, this takes place in the downfall timeline. Surely after the death of King Gannon, malice still flies in the air. And evil men still plot. Far away from Hyrule, lies the country of Arken.
Played the demo, very nice! I just have some QOL suggestions. The map looks great, but maybe have a default zoomed out version that shows the entire world? Would save some scrolling time. Id also separate the confirm/back buttons from roll/sword actions. Not a huge deal, but I could see it being annoying for some who change the defaults. Last, I would slip off the push blocks if I wasn’t directly on them. It’s nice not getting stuck on walls, but maybe not have it on interactive objects? Very polished demo though, nice work!
thank you very much for your feedback! :)
how do i play on Macbook plz :D
